Como shambhala (Begawan Giri) |
|
| |
| In December 2005, COMO Shambhala Estate at Begawan Giri launched in Bali, introducing a new paradigm in residential health retreats. It is known, in short, as The Estate.
As a flagship of the COMO Shambhala brand, The Estate aims to deliver a deeper experience than the fly-and-flop resort while promising a more personalised approach than the current spread of high-end destination spas. It provides an elevated level of care for guests, presenting them with the momentous opportunity to shed old habits.
Individuals can engage at their own pace and on their own terms. They may also experience the shared camaraderie of shared goals.
Health professionals include Therapists, Consultants, Resident Teachers, Visiting Masters and Activity Guides. There is a resident Nutritionist, Naturopath, Ayurvedic Doctor, Physiotherapist, as well as Fitness, Yoga and Pilates Instructors. Personal Programs include Detoxification, Stress Management, Weight Management, Therapeutic Nutrition, Get Fit and Skin Revitalisation packages.
Facilities are state-of-the-art. Menus focus on organic, fresh and nutritional COMO Shambhala cuisine. Accommodation is villa-style, some with private pools.

Begawan Giri Estate was built up over a nine-year period, taking great care to ensure that the natural beauty of the area remained undisturbed. The end result is an estate that has emerged, in a seemingly natural evolution, out of the jungle. The Estate's five unique residences or 22 suites are designed to meet the most demanding needs of discerning, well-travelled guests.
TIRTA - ENING (Clear Water)... These golden pavilions of 150 year-old Javanese teak depict a meditative simplicity as they float out over sheets of water reflecting a mixture of oriental cultures and styles with a Zen feel.
Named after the natural elements of fire, wind, water, forest and earth, the residences provide elegant facilities with interior designs that combine European and Asian influences.
TIRTA - ENING (Clear Water)... The central, floating pavilion is reminiscent of old Javanese homes. Water-lily ponds surrounding the platform reflect the intricate beauty of the stone entrance.
TIRTA - ENING (Clear Water)... This residence greets the visitor with the serenity of a water palace as the sight and sound of water can be sensed throughout the formal pavilions.
TEJASUARA (Sound of Fire)...A primeval ambience depicting a sophisticated/primitive feel rooted in the island of Sumba, emanates from this habitation, constructed from 1,200 tonnes of stone imported from this island.
